Mae Kuang Dam Loop

The Chiang Mai – Mae Kuang Dam – Doi Saket Loop

Total Distance: 98 kms approx.
Route: 1001 & 118.
Travel Time: ¾ day.

Allow yourself all day to enjoy it properly. A sweet little picnic ride to take the girlfriend.

Ride approx 48 kms, stop at the beautiful Bua Thong waterfall & lovely forest park.

Continue north for another 2kms, turn right to ride 13 kms through a beautiful teak forest

To reach the Mae Kuang dam…

The road ends at the dam.

Here you can hire a small boat to put your bike on, sail across the dam with the bike on board

Put your bike on the boat & away you go.

Unload your bike at the other side by the dam wall. Take lunch at a nice restaurant overlooking the dam & ride 25 kms back to Chiang Mai.

With your bikes on board sail away across the dam. Great fun.
