Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for hotels with secure parking that will let you leave your bike for a night or two? I need to do a visa run and don't want to bother taking the bike across the southern border crossing at Pakse.

Mukdahan Grand Hotel.
Just park the bike right in front of the main entrance, sort of VIP area and no worries. I did it before.

PS I even got the photo

If you can't find a hotel for parking , there is a covered car park, charge a daily fee, seems to have security on the left as you get to the bridge immigration. Have left a pick up truck there before. A free public car park just along from that also on the left, by the looks a few of the cars have been there for some time (dusty and flat tires). Parking there means a short walk to buy the bus ticket and get stamped. Coming back get stamped in and 2 minute walk to the car park.

I did a search & found this one
Bo Tree Cottage | Facebook

A booking.com review had this to say

“The property is exactly how it is described. The garden is beautiful and facing the Mekong river. Both the owner as the staff are lovely and extremely helpful. The garden, restaurant, pool and room are clean and taken care of with eye for detail. There was safe parking space for the motorbike.”
but damned if I can find any images of the parking.

In 2011 I stayed at the Rabiang Muk
Mukdahan Accommodation.

I stayed at the Bird Day Boutique Hotel last year it has comfortable modern rooms for 650 Baht a night, secure uncovered parking around the back of the hotel. I alway put a disc lock on for peace of mind. Tell the reception what you are doing all should be fine.
It's also called Birthday Boutique Hotel address is Chayang Kun Rd., Mukdahan, Mueang Mukdahan, MUKDAHAN (close to Big C Mukdahan)
GPS N16.55612° E104.71810°
Located about 7km from Friendship Bridge

Ended up parking the bike at the front door of the River City Hotel. No problems. Rooms are not so good but staff was very friendly and polite. Even got to crash the owners son's wedding. Good fun.

This is a great thread. I need to leave my CB500 in Mukdahan for one or two nights (as you can no longer easily take it over to Laos - See Laos Border Crossings thread).

If anybody has any updates or more recent experiences of parking a bike up in Mukdahan for a night or two, please share.
