I meant to post this message soon after staying here but forgot until now.

This place in Pai was really good value for money and the owner went out of her way to make us feel at home. The rooms we had were fan cooled but extremely comforable and well appointed. The rooms also had a great adjoininng deck outside where we could meet and share some time together. Security of the bikes although stored outside, was good and I would stay here again for sure.

We used to live in Pai, so I know a few places - there are hundreds that I don't know though, guest houses have mushroomed in Pai over the last few years.

Pairadise - run by a German lady and her Thai husband http://www.pairadise.com/english/index.html

Pai chan - http://www.paichan.com/

Pai chan is probably the best deal in Pai, no idea why they don't charge more (I keep telling them). On the other hand they're usually booked out so make reservations in advance. It's very small, just a few bungalows, but very, very pretty. The windows open into a rice field. They have a wonderful little pool. And the kitchen is great too (breakfast/lunch). Prices vary with the season...

In town, I liked Rim Pai cottages - it's smack in the middle of town. Best location. Can be expensive though, and it's pretty basic for what you pay. I don't know their current rates or website.

TTK Guesthouse.
TTK Pai 2.jpg

200 bath in the low season and 300 bath in high season for a fan room with 3 beds.
TTK Pai 3.jpg

You can park the bike right in the front of the room. And have any meal served at you own table.
TTK Pai 1.jpg

Very quite at night.

Well that didn't last long. Under new management & a 42% price increase, in low season!
The 600 baht rooms are now 850 baht & no budging on the price.
Needless to say I didnt stay...back to the Heart of Pai I went for 600 baht, but no under cover parking.

The River - River of Love Pai
GTR%20-%20IMG_0986.jpg

A block of rooms set onto a piece of land by the river
GTR%20-%20IMG_0980.jpg

GTR%20-%20IMG_0979.jpg

They have a nice deck over looking the riverside
GTR%20-%20IMG_0981.jpg

GTR%20-%20IMG_0984.jpg

all rather nice I thought & the price as right: 490 baht & 790 baht.
I opted for the cheapo charlie 490 baht room.
GTR%20-%20IMG_0974.jpg

GTR%20-%20IMG_0976.jpg

GTR%20-%20IMG_0977.jpg

the bathroom
GTR%20-%20IMG_0973.jpg

but the room had no ventilation & was musty.
Lesson learned take the 790 baht room with a view & windows next time

Location on the river road R1095 coming from MHS into Pai city. Right on the corner / right hand bend. 70 metres after Brookview Guest House.
Its on the very top of the GTR Pai City Downtown map.
GPS: N19.36264 E98.44051

BTW would I stay there again - no.
Brookview is more enjoyable IMHO.

Let me chime in too.
When in Pai I always stay at the same place: Pai Village and Farm Resort.
Bit on higher end price wise but right in the middle of the action.
There are 2 types of accommodation here: single room bungalows and private gated villa.
If available I always pick number 39, Sarika Deluxe Villa. THB 2,500 in high season, offers everything you need except swimming pool.
