thnks Dav, but i dont feel like spending almost 10$ a minute for this call from Kazakhstan for God knows what result. as its just a website- and nobody heard of them. so far waiting when anyone i know there would check mail or skype- i dont feel like wasting all my balance on that calls i know be long. anyway those guys in phuket wouldnt go there to check wssup it is- theyll just give a call, they dont ride anywhere from their village not like our forrummates mototravelers who maybe would pass by that shop someday and check out wssup as it seem to be local tyre manufacturer- seems like good guys to know to me

Apologies I some how thought you were living in Thailand. Silly me!
If they are not answering emails for overseas inquiries I guess theres not much chance of them completing an overseas order very satisfactorily.

Would these guys be a better help

How about these New Tires: Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR. Come Standard on the New Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. They look like an Aggressive Off Road Tire but are Incredibly Smooth and have Amazing Grip when You lay into the Corners as well. Not Sure what Other Sizes will be Avalible but I can see them selling alot, once Someone has Tried them they will be Hooked!

For all of Our GT Riders in BKK.....

We use Radial Tab here in the Ekkamai Area! We also have an account, so if any riders are here for suspension work, we can have new skins on with the sspension Mods at the same time. We have loaner Bikes as well.... free of Charge.

The only downside is when we have Dirt Riders with Tubes.... Not sure what the politics are in Thailand, but they will not sell Tubes from Michelin. As a matter of Fact, they will not sell anyones brand of inner tubes. We can purchase IRC tubes for our Dirt customers, but Highly recommend the RP4's for most street machines and Scooters.

The great alternative is a small shop called 29Tires that have a variety of tires from "No Name" to Perelli.

Just bought a new set of Mitas E07 for my CRF250l, Normally i run 100% offload tyres, but i needed a 50/50 tyre for a trip to Laos. Today did 150km to break them in, mostly road but about 30km of off road, So glad i bought these, amazing on road. and plenty of grip offroad to have a bit of fun..Not sure what they will be like on the wet, But so far very impressed. Bought from Imoto in Pattaya, great service there as usual.

Fitted then on my Honda AT.
I am hooked.
Very impressed with the tyre.

Purchased them in CR at a Pirelli dealer

Location....19.93401 99.841438

Was cheaper than dealers in CM.

I've heard from a good authority that this Pirelli dealer is first class. Not needed to go there but will check them out as soon as rear tyre is "finished" It's good news we now have such a set up in ChiangRai.

So exactly who is the dealer in CR.

Sorry Dave
No name for the shop, but check out the location GPS and you will see where it is.

Also, there is one other new dealer in CR as well.

Brain from the bike rental shop just started to use them
and has been very happy with there sevices.
Speak to Brain for the location.
I did check them out myself but found the other shop for me to be cheaper.

Before the Memorial Ride my Tiger got new Pirelli there. Due to the distance I had pre-ordered them.
All worked fine, got very good service and coffee from Andy.
A straight forward recommendation from me to buy there

In Chiang Mai, a new shop getting good reviews & with a decent farang following already.

Been to ChiangRai Big Bike tyres this morning.
New rear tyre fitted, balanced & wheel cleaned. Excellent service. Proper equipement. Not a big hammer, chisel or screw driver to be seen. Will go again when necessary!

As is its want, Ronald Enfield decided to be different by running 2.50-18 and 3.50-18 rims on the Interceptor. They are shod with nice Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp (100/90-18 F & 130/70-18 R) tyres, but I’m looking for something a little more clay-friendly (understanding that it’s a while since an Interceptor won the Dakar...).
There are limited options for these rim sizes, and currently I’m leaning towards Shinko E705’s (I have a technical query in place on rim compatibility).
Has anyone had any experience with E705’s in any size? I’ve seen generally positive reviews for acceptable on-off road performance and longevity, although one of premature breakdown of centre ‘knobs’ - It actually looked like what one would expect from running unfashionably low pressures, but the reviewer was adamant that was not the case.
If not E705’s, does anyone have suggested alternatives? Generally tyreco’s offer 50/50 - 80/20 (road/dirt) 18’s in front, or rear in a given model, but seldom both. I’m not overly concerned with rear knobby-gnarlieness - just want a front that was not designed for Torvill & Dean :)
Cheers,
Eoin

I have run a set of Shinko 705 on a Yamaha Tenere 660 and I am now also using a 705 front tyre on the same bike. Just did the Dempster Highway in the far north of Canada - 8-900 kms (+ return) of rough dirtroad - Shinko 705 are imo a perfectly ok tyre for the cheap pricetag they come with.

Thanks, Dodraugen. That’s good news, and aligned with most of what I have read. No great off-road wonder, but robust and suitable for basic dirt road requirements.
I now just need Shinko to respond on applicability for the 18” rims.
Cheers,
Eoin

Shinko Malaysia have now gone quiet on the TQ I raised. It looks like I’ll head for Heidenau K60’s - More aggressive than I intended, but less ‘un-fun’ if I hit clay / mud (which attracts me in a primitive way).

I got the response tonight - The E705’s are not compatible. Heidenau it is...

Heidenau K60 - my oh my, the stiffest, noisiest, less grippy tyres with cracking issues - the absolutely worst tyres thats been on my Tenere thats now has done 210 k kms around the world....

But then again tyre choices are always very subjective and personal...
