Hi All,

Recently picked up my Versys from Udon.. Decided to take a nice ride along the Mekong and over night before heading to Chiang Mai...

Found this place last December and due to running late with the bike paper work / transfer.. Had the opportunity to visit again..
Sadly.. It was getting dark and I pulled in to a resort 100 metres down the road.. and found the place I was looking for when scouting around for dinner.

This has to be one of the hidden gems along this stretch.. Gerrie and his Thai wife have done a wonderful job.. They are extremely friendly.
Even if you don't over night (which you should) it is worth a stop for lunch and a drink and relax in the restaurant and enjoy the lovely scenery..
Great Thai / Lao food.. Half the staff are Thai and half Lao.

Just put the coord on Google Earth and find this: 211, Pha Tang, Sangkhom, Nong Khai, Thailand
It's just beside the Siam Bungalow Resort (you can use this name to search on GE)

A lot of people just blow thought Sangkhom.. In a rush to get to Loei for the boriing bars in the crappy town..
Or heading to Vientiane..

But there is a lot to do around Sangkhom.. Also.. The perfect place to relax and do nothing if that is what you like.
I did nothing but took in a few places this Christmas.

I agree Brian, Sangkhom and the surrounding areas are a great part of Thailand, and the "Banmai Rimkong Resort" is a true winner, as your photos show.
