I am for ever picking up Chiangmai number plates off the road near my wifes' locksmith shop. Several large Tiger beers will get you one, if you want one. Goodness knows what kind of bike they fell off though ! The street cops use our shop and have offered me on umpteen occasions a new book and plate for any bike - catch is the fifty grand baht ! Hence all my bikes now are bought new and thus legal. Been here 19 years - never had the bike I was on closely looked at, except when reregistering.
