Hey I tell you what that was one of the best experiences I have had in Thailand. I think I took on a big chore though I'm only 3/4's of the way through Lucky's photos, haven't even touched my own yet. I still think this would make a great ride fo us to gte together for next year, if we plan early on. I'll start a thread on that wehn I get through with this one so everyone can see what it's like.

Good Point the problem is I have to open and close photo bucket and GTriders each tiem for each photo. It's taking about five mins per photo. I did find a bulk up load for Photo bucket to speed things up a bit. But nothing to quicken the transfer time. I sit them up in specific areas so I will be adding photos to these later on. Would be nice if I could transfer more then one at a time but no luck so far.

Hi Ray,
I know the photo posting can be a bit of a pain. It helps to keep either 2 tabs on your browser open, one for photobucket, one for GTR, or open 2 browser windows. Post all your photos to an album in photobucket, and then start the GTPost, go back to photobucket window, and just click on the photo address, which copies the ref, switch tab or window back to gtr and paste, add any text you want, go down one line and back to photobucket
probably sounds more complex than it is.
The other thing you can do is write your whole post in a word document, paste in the photo references from photobucket in the right place, and then open a new GTR post and copy and paste the whole thing. The advantage of this is you can then post on Udon Map or somewhere else as well, from the same word doc.
All the best John

Duh don't you just hate reading instructions, this would have taken about an hour this time three minutes.

Dan Sai Loop

Thsi was a 85 Klm ride that David recommended and really a good break for our second day, Friday. If your coming from Loie when you enter Dan Sai, yuo will see a Golden Arch way, ( no it's not MickyD's) completly across the road you would turn right at the street prior to it. That is where all the parade activities ect will be. For the loop stay on that road and ride out of town. Take it till you come to one those road block station point, turn left. Go to the T intersection turn left. You will come to the main highyway with signage fro Dan Sai, turn left and you are back where you started. Good road, I would say medium difficulty lots of twisties and cliimbing , Beautiful views and a fun ride. Don't let the 85 Klms full you, unless your a hot sport bike rider it will take more then an hour, at points I was working the 400 to death,

Ladies of Dan Sai

There were pretty girls everywhere, in the crowd and part of the parade. Some you did'nt see as it turns out they were wearing those costums and pointing the dongs at the crowd as well

This little sweety was actually from Hong Kong, I think she was in the entertainment field probably why she was dressed as she was and had a professional film crew with her. who were later told to leave.

A Truly international group Guys from France, The UK and Pakistan, ladies from Thailand, China, Cambodia, Burma and Taiwan. They wre a group of students diown fom Bangkok, doing interviews for a class project, They were working on thier Masters in marketing. Some times these things are scams. But they didn't ask for any contact info, So I think they were doing just exactly what they said.

You l know every ride has it's little quirks. A Princess was coming to see even So we are standing around enjoying the festival. About 1300 hours we are told the Princess is coming so they start crowd control with an ETA of 1330 hours. 30 mins to get things a bit organized good plan. 1530 the Princess arrives. In the mean time we are told to sit down on the asphalt street and wait, we do as we are told. Then we are told no one take can take photos, this is where he Hong Kong film crew was old to leave. Which was OK with me they were blocking everyones view and not the least bit polite about it.

This was funny as it gets, about an hour and half into the wait. A drunk Thai guy comes along on a bike, you could see him trying his very best not to drop it adn all his concentration w there. Rode right through the police lines ended up with several chasing him. Well eventually run into a solid wall of people waiting for the Princes. Thank goodness he was able to recognize there was no place to go. He had no clue what he had just done.

Next time you want to complain about the cops around here, they went over turned his bike off. Gently escorted him out and pushed his bike back. That would not ahve been what would have happened where I come from.

This is where it gets nuts, the Princess is a Lawyer in Udon and we see her and her protection staff all the time. Well sometimes you just got to give a little back. My wife never hesitates when I want to ride, rain or sun shine, it doesn'tt matter. So I waited with her

The dancers practised before she arrived, but there was this one Police Sgt who kept practising coming attention for about 15 Min. I kind of thought he should know how to do this without the practise. It was really big deal for these people.

I actualy felt sorry for her she is a young woman dressed in jeans, drives a snazzy car. So she has spirit. My understaning is she is the daughter of the Prince from his first mariage.

So they do the special dance performance for her and a mini parade. I think her security people were having heart attacks  In the parade she joined the people for photos. But she never saw what we did for the day.

You know most of the time here you can enjoy whats going on no matter if there are some delays if you just look for the bright side of life, it's there.
