Just arrived in Chiang Mai with my husband Tony, looking to rent a couple of bikes and have a few days touring around before going over to Laos.

Doesn't sound so easy to cross borders with bikes so we'd thought we'd just rent in each country... Plans are to stay in Laos for a while based with a mate who lives in Vientiane, hoping to ride soe of the Ho-Chi-Min trail. Would love to get to Cambodia, and maybe a bit of Vietnam, too. We like to take our time, no iron-butts here, so would rather cover less ground but enjoy the journey than try to pack in every country and town on the way.

We've both been riding for years, met at a bike rally in the UK, and have been trying to get away on a RTW bike (or possibly trike) trip for a few years, though we've hit a few obstacles along the way already - only managed a few months in Europe so far, and have been sidetracked to SE Asia for 4 and a half months. Nothing goes to plan, but that's life, and we're loving being here! :D

Would be great to catch up with anyone else into riding who fancies a beer or three while we're here, and of course any hints or tips are always welcome - we're very open to advice!

    Ride safe
    Sarah
