HOTEL: The Oudomphone Hotel2
Please yourself on the spelling!..
The 2 bed room
bump for jurgen
I am considering a night there on my return trip. Eager to explore the small Mekong city and to watch Tammila from another side
We liked that very much!! Brandnew, spacey, very nice staff. Greetings to receptionist Mickey, who spent the hole evening with us. Absolute quiet location in a sideroad.
The Keoudomphone/ Oudomphone Hotel2 guesthouse (above OP) is where I usually stay, but there currently closed for major renovations, so I tried out the Thanormub guesthouse which is about 100 metres from Keoudomphone. Its on the GT Rider Laos map.
My old favorite, Keoidomphone/Oudomphone Hotel2 Guesthouse getting a major face lift.
The Thanormub Guesthouse can only be described as cheap and cheerful.
Rooms are clean and well worth the 60,000 kip. The best thing about Thanormub is that there’s good parking for your bike, as well as being in a good location right in town.
Interesting I too thought the Keoudomphone/ Oudomphone Hotel2 was closed for renovations.
but when I went to check after checking in elsewhere, I saw & was told it was business as usual at the back. The renovations at the front are merely new family rooms!
So where did I stay...
at the real Houay Sai Riverside
get a ground floor room & park right outside.
The room - air con TV
Bathroom, reasonably big & good hot water
The price: 500 baht & excellent value for money I thought.
On the GTR Laos - Houei Xai city map.
