Can any kind locals find out when the main festival will be in ThaTon this year?
In 2009 I was in Chiangmai, saw a big spectacular Loy Kratong parade one night, and headed out next day, thinking Loy Kratong was over. I stopped for the night in Tha Ton, and found myself unexpectedly in the midst of a more rustic but even better festival and parade! - like every different hill tribe for miles around had arrived in their best dress! Some pretty big animal rafts went into the river too!
I'd really like to catch it again, and would like to plan accordingly, so if anyone has some info, please share. I wouldn't mind a group ride there if anyone's interested.
