Mae Sai - Tachilek

These two photos of the bridge at the Mae Sai - Tachilek bording crossing are from my first trip to Northern Thailand in 1991.

The guy on the river bank was catching cartons of cigarettes dropped to him by he's Thai mate above. He then ran of into Burma with he's booty.

Found a few fabulous old Mae Sai - Tachilek photos I found on the net, that are interesting.

The bridge over the Ruak @ Mae Sai-Tachileik was destroyed by a bomb during World War II at the end of 1945.

I would guess we are on bridge # 4 or 5 now?
