Thanks for posting that, I just downloaded it with the Thailand map, navigation voice overs seem good as does the map. The caching of offline maps is really useful for when there is no cell coverage.

+1 for OSMand!

Silly me I forgot to install Canada maps on my Garmin Montana, and once you're on the road you're outta luck unless you have access to a computer with which to download and install additional maps.

But with a smart phone and a free WiFi connection at a Subway in Wawa, Ontario I downloaded and installed Ontario and Quebec maps onto my Sony Xperia V and can navigate perfectly!

OSMand has some features I really like! Adding waypoints is far easier and more intuitive on OSMand than on the clunky Garmin interface. The OSMand display is super easy to modify and customize.

Discovered today that the OSMand app knows posted speed limits and warns you when you are speeding! Who cares in Thailand, right? ;) But here in Canada that's a super handy feature!!

Nothing is perfect of course- the App sucks battery like you wouldn't believe, especially since you need to set your screen on "full bright" for daytime navigation on a motorcycle. So, you must have a charger hooked up to your phone which means, if you have a waterproof phone like the newer Samsungs and Sonys, your setup is no longer waterproof... For folks looking for car GPS this is not a concern.

OSMand is FREE and allows you to download and install 10 maps. If you need more maps you must upgrade to the paid version. I have, and it's worth every cent!

All Apps is only as good as the map they use. They all have faults and limitations and the more you know about that, the better you can use the app.
Try Google map and search for breakfast and the nearest advertiser will show up.;)

Time to mention Kurviger.de again. The only 'app' for motorcycle riding. Good for riders in a new place and very good for me and others with the attitude, 'Been there, done that'.
With German precision you can't go wrong.:p

My only input on this screenshoot is Kafe1985 as start point and 200km Round Trip. Heading North.

Changed the direction to South.

This is were the fun is.
You can change the direction in all directions.:)
You can change from motorway to medium and very curvy road.
Export and copy to your GPS or any app that read GPX files.
And most important, get on your bike and go riding. :D:D:D
