Riding down to Malaysia next week- it will be my first time riding south of Krabi and I'm looking forward to checking out southern Thailand. Hear the road from Yala to Betong is supposed to be fantastic (if you don't get blown up) :take-that:

Will begin a trip report once we're underway.

Happy Trails!

Tony,

Check out "South Thailand Road and Trip Reports".

Capt. Slash went right round South Thailand in 2010 and did reports for every day. Loads of info on roads and places.

I just got back from a little trip, picked up a used Yamaha Nouvo in Nakhon Si Thammarat, rode it 180km down to Songkhla, stayed for a couple of days, then rode back to Phuket via Hat Yai, Phattalung, Trang, Krabi, Phang Nga; 473km in 8h with half an hour lunch break.

Weather was perfect, overcast, some sun, not too hot, not a drop of rain. Roads in good condition, some areas they were putting in a new lane, so dirt and construction vehicles.
