    Vientianne to Vang Vieng

Actually I wanted to leave Chiang Mai with my AT, but as I was short in time, I decided driving up to Udon Thani by truck go on the bus and then rent a XR in Vientianne. I’ve spend a little more time looking around the sites of Vientianne and Vang Vieng, so that’s all you get this time. Nothing much exciting but I could take some nice shots, that I wanted to share anyway.

So I rented a XR 250 with Phuarks on T2 Road as so many time before and I got a good bike. The weather wasn’t to good and shortly after Vientianne I had to pull over and take break because of the heavy rain falls. Then I continued thru Hin Hoeb and arrived in Vang Vieng 2 hours later. I wasn’t under pressure this time and was really driving slow, believe it or not!

In Vang Vieng I decided to stay at the brand new Thivasouk Hotel/Resort. Really nice place to stay and I gotta good price for the room, because they just opened. The next I started exploring some caves and doing some offroad riding for a couple of hours.

Vang Vieng has a lot of that to offer. I stayed in VV for another 2 days before I was hitting back to Vientianne to get my passport and fresh stamped visa for Thailand.

So nothing too exciting, but I hope you enjoy anyway.

    Hi Marco,

This group of vintage motorcyclist I met in front of Phuarks Motorcycle Shop in Vientianne. They travelled all the way from Vietnam. That day they would continue to Thakek. I suppose they found that old rocket somwhere around Phonsawan, but I really don't know. Thanks for the nice words.

The Blue Lake is located at N18 55 37.8 E102 23 44.7 near the Phou Kham Cave which is west of Vang Vieng. In Vang Vieng, go over the bridge over the Nam Song. About 4.2 km from the bridge turn right and after 1.6 km keep right and you will end up at the lake and cave.
