    Hi all, new to the forum. Therefore, apologies if I may askquestions that are already answered, although I searched the forums for a while.
    My trip will start in late April for about 3 weeks. First leg will be on highways to Phuket and than to Hua Hin. From there the plan is to drive up to Thong Pha Pum. Which is straightforward. The next leg is where my concerns are. From Thong Pha Pum to Umphang the distance is 250 odd kilometers, but travel time is estimated to be 8+ hours. Did anyone did that route and is it recommendable/driveable with a Ducati Multistrada? Are there other roads you would suggest to take as alternative? Further stretches would be along the Myanmar / Thai border to Chiang Mai. Will document trip and upload to the forum.
    Thank you all for your kind support and suggestions.

    Skip out Umphang.

    Suggest from Tak - Mae Sot.

    Mae Sot - Mae Sarieng.

    From Mae Sarieng either come into Chiang Mai via Doi Inthanon;
    or
    from Mae Sarieng head north to Mae Hong Son & complete the Mae Hong Son Loop.
