I'd like to buy a Vietnamese bike in Cambodia and ride it back into Vietnam. Has anyone done this recently? Assuming I have the blue card, any problems?
The issue I'm worried about is that when you take a Vietnamese bike into Cambodia I assume you get some kind of temporary entry permit at the border that allows you to have the bike in Cambodia for a limited amount of time without having to officially import it, pay import tax, register it in Cambodia etc.
If I buy a VN bike that has been in Cambodia for a while, am I going to have problems when I try to take it back through customs into Vietnam?
Anyone have experience of this? What are the official rules and what actually happens in real life?
