Today in Nation business section Dom owner of Britbike admits that Triumph total sales have been only 400 bikes over 6 years thats an average only 65 a year , Ducati have sold over 1200 bikes in one year and 209 in July this year alone, its obvious he wants to keep it an exclusive super expensive brand and it also appears he has Triumph UK tied into a Thai distribution deal they cant get out of including the need to treat all Triumphs as IMPORTS although factory insiders have intimated they would like too use BOI privelige to sell the Thai made models at more reasonable prices ......TIT . Thats why Ducati set up a different distribution system they want mass market sales here and he does not , Ducati are in control of their destiny in Thailand as are Kawasaki , honda etc......Triumph at present are not in control of the Thai distributer network a clear case of the tail waging the dog.

That's a Shame for Triumph! Great for Ducati though! If Ducati can Sell that many Bikes now imagine what they can do if they actually produce a Bike that People would actually want? The 795 Monster is Nice But what about a locally made Hypermotard? An Adventure Version like the Old Cagiva Elephant or some Usable stuff like that? I am Sure they would Sell a Lot More of those compared to the Diavel for instance?

Word on the street is the Ducati are setting up to assemble Hypermotard end of this year, sale figures should rise dramatically. Wouldn't mind a locally built Multistrada me self.

Not quite correct Ian , the Ducati dealers run by Thais may have little stock but Pattaya ducati dealer which is farang owned has masses of bikes for sale and regular deliveries he has been selling an average of 30+ bikes a month since opening last November ,he does say that imported models are a continual bottleneck,

they have demonstration bikes available to ride too , Diavel and Monster 795 , and Multistrada .

an interesting side rumour is that certain people are looking into enticing Apprillia and MotoGuzzi into the local market with a distributership in negotiation?????

Wow! that is awesome: 30 a month since November = 9 months = 9 x 30 = 270 Ducatis.
That sounds like an amazing shop.
Any chance of some pix & details of the shop, especially since it is farang owned.
What model is the best seller?
