New Z800 to be made in Thailand?

If Kawasaki Thailand gives the Z800 to the local market with the full unrestricted 83Kw (111 Hp) then they will be onto something.
If the restrict it like they can do very easy ex-works (like the Z800E in the UK - 70 Kw or 93 Hp) and it starts to look not so attractive (and very close to the HP of the domestic made Ducati 795) thus the overall comparison gap narrows.
2 years standard factory warranty will be very good (if you don’t have to pay for any 1 year + extended warranty plan)

Agreed! I would like to think that Kawasaki learned from the ZX10R that sold miserably, that the Thai market is not interested in restricted bikes. The Z1000 is not restricted so let's hope the same will be true for the Z800. Let's wait and see if the ZX14R, imported from Japan is Japan spec (restricted) or full power. All motorcycles sold by Kawasaki, Thailand come with 2 year unlimited warranty.
The A2 learner license Euro restricted bikes will be less than 20% of production according to My pal Alf who is a Kwak dealer in UK,its kawasakis best selling bike in Europe average 15,000 sales a year in EU alone , unlikely that restricted version will vbe sold in thailand

The FZ8 has received pretty good reviews, but as it's imported from Japan it's a bit dear, at 480k Baht. With the odd pricing of import bikes here in Thailand I'm guessing most buyers will scrape together an extra 110k Baht and go for the FZ1.

I have seen a couple of BMW 800rr around they look great especialaly in Orange and sound good with Akrapovic exhaust but silly price here 700k+
APHonda is taking the piss with the pricing of their imported bikes. Most grey market importers undercut them by a good 15-20%

Had coffee with a Thai friend this morning who met some Kawasaki bigwigs he was at Uni with on a recent trip to BKK and they told him more than 300k but less than 350k. Also mentioned a Z250, a naked Ninja 250, will be released this year too.
When do you guys think you will be able to put an order in? ,through your experience do you think there will be the same amount of interest shown to the Z800 as there was for the versys. I am going to Udon Thani in next month for my 1st service for the Versys, i am going to ask if i can put my name down now,,,Do you think this is possible? or is it still just people listening to hearsay about the Z800 coming to LOS
Despite not publicly confirming it, the Kawasaki management KNOW it will be released soon so I'm sure they'd take a deposit, they have done in Chiang Mai. For peace of mind maybe have the receipt worded correctly with a maximum price you'd be happy to pay, if it is released higher than that then you get a full refund.

Sorry for deviating from the Z800 topic but this is the second time "Indonesia" popped up. They also announced the naked CB150R based on the CBR150R.
What's the deal with Indonesia? Do they have plants to assemble motorcycles like Thailand does?

That would be good value if true as The full faired Kawasaki 650 with that 20% increase is now 290thou which in 2 years has gone up over $1000 US.
I know there was a model change but in most country s the price has dropped but not here up up up.
I don't know what the versys will be now with the price increase but if that 800cc bike is 350 or less that would be a huge surprise and very welcome.
This would be much better value than a 650 Ninja.

I forgot about the increases , ime glad you mentioned that, yes 350k does sound a great buy,, i ended up paying 300k on the road for the Versys with the insurance etc,, i think ile wait and see what the actual on the road price is now before i commit myself i was using my heart not my head , theres no rush i havnt broken the Versys in yet.

I was in luck there i paid 285,000 for the Versy , its now 313,000 i would be very surprised to see the Z800 at 350,000 or under, it makes it look like the guys who bought the early Thailand Versys a real bargain, they seem to have gone up in price at an incredible rate in the last 2 years.It must affect 2nd hand sales prices..ide of thought.

Those shops will suffer and big bikes in this country have just taken a massive backward step.
May be this is what the GOVERNMENT wants who knows.
No imports and big prices on big bikes that will do it.

Tony, The KX 250 & 450 Motocross Bikes will be sold in Thailand coming in the Next Month or so? I was inquiring at CM Kawasaki recently about any Bigger Dirt Bikes in the Future and they told Me then. I can't see them selling many? Now a Street Legal KLX450 YES!

I msg Kawa udon last night via Facebook.. Confirmed not for the road, race bike.
But having said that.. While waiting for a reply.. Did some googling.. There are kits for the bike to make them road legal..
Of course.. emissions controls etc etc etc.. But up to you if you want to try.. Will stick with the KLX 250 for now..
