Another vote for Disento .... after a night at Thailand's secret germ warfare laboratory (aka the Phumanee kitchen, in Fang) the old Disento's came to rescue.
Pharmacist insisted I bought three packets (12 tablets) and took the lot, but from experience, usually a max of 12 hours on, and its all cleared up.

If you get any long term symptoms get checked for stomach and pancreatic cancer

my mate simon got dehli belly in Mexico it cleared up but for next 3 years he kept getting ill and going to UK hospitals and GPs they palmed him off until one doctor in Germany where he was on contract did send him to Cancer specialist who diagnosed cancer of stomach and pancreas caused by original infection from mexico ,, by then it was too late he died 6 months later aged 54

his wife sued the NHS for negligence but they closed shop apparently to patients advocates in UK its not an uncommon issue with stomach and pancreatic cancers not being diagnosed

Carbon tabs, every time. Half a bottle, if necessary. Taste quite nice once you get used to them. Available in most 7/11's and all over Indonesia. Side effect: Black teeth make you look like you have been chewing betel leaf.

To combat nausea with stomach upset Diocalm (apparently Morphine Hydrochloride 0.395mg, Activated Attapulgite 312.5mg and Attapulgite 187.5mg.)

For amoebic dysentery, see a doctor. Do NOT take Diocalm or any loperamide.

Usually, the best thing is to get it out. :mask:

I found the powdered form of Pocari Sweat "Ion Supply Drink" convenient to carry and diluted with twice the normal amount of water (15g in 400ml water) worked well for recovery.
