I inaugurate my GTR forum membership with my compliments for your very fine photography. Thanks for all the details with each image, too. Gives me inspiration to get out into the countryside when I land this fall for a lengthy stay in VN. I've only been in Ha Noi and Sai Gon, much to the dismay of my Viet friends here back home in Canada. I'll recover some face when I can tell them of my upcountry adventures.
A Canon 40D, eh? Do you have a selection of lenses or were you using one of the zoom lenses? And what range was it? Thanks. |

You're very welcome. The answer to the equipment question remains to be decided. After seeing your pix and those on ADVRider.com RRs, I've come to the conclusion I can't just shoot with my recently new Canon SD850is. I'll miss so much because it has no reach. There's new Rebel XSI out soon. My budget will restrict me to that level, plus one zoom lens.
Question: maybe you can point out a thread discussing renting of mcycles in SEA, VN in particular. Most of the info on foreign tourists renting bikes has been discouraging so far. I would have liked to ride in China but it doesn't seem possible. I like to be as legal as possible. But maybe my six-month visa for VN will give me enough clout to get me all legal on licence and insurance. Anyway, I don't know enough. Thanks! |
