I did a trip out of Mhs up past the Kings summer palace and up to the Burmese border stopping at the waterfall on the way back, a guy came running out and it was a surprise not to be asked for money, but all he wanted was names and mode of transport. This road is well surfaced with lots of twists and hills and some very sharp bends, quite an exciting ride, just before I got back to the 1095 I turned right heading towards the Long Neck village, I rode past the turning for them and carried on until the tarmac ends and did a u-turn. Everything is so green now and no fires yet, I have ridden this road a few times before over the years and was riding along reasonably fast when I came round a corner to see one of the electric cables dangling at neck height and which nearly caught me unawares. I stopped and alerted others coming to slow down then a Thai came along climbed the pole and began hauling it up. As I rode away I was wondering what if it had caught me under the chin, does it break your neck or are you left hanging from it while your bike carries on riderless, I dont think I will try it on purpose to find out the answer. Both nights here I ate at Alans Salawin restaurant, a nice very filling pizza was enjoyed here, sadly Alan isnt here at the moment his wife said hes gone to Hat Yai for six months teaching English as the tourism is down badly. So any of you out this way call in for a bite, the foods good and hes a really nice guy
