sorry no photo's its just all info:
riders are honda honky and happy feet
cnx- mao on- hwy1229- ban mai- hwy1230- mae tahakrai- huai kaeo.
between mai tahakrai and huai kaeo there is about 4km of quality dirt road(little dust)
we also took a rhs detour just after the dirt comes back to tarmac N18'47.397/ E99'18.404 this road was a newly layed tarmac about a car width wide, it winded through the mountain into a viilage for about 7km.
at the village you come to a t junction if you go left it loops back to the 1230 on dirt, along this track you come to a choice of left up the hill or right down the hill, we chose left but it seems both meet back to the 1230.
2nd section
huai kaeo-4074 rural road- left into-5073- ban pok (pang nai)-thep sadet(where hwy1317 goes to hwy1252 i have no number)
from ban pok about 4km dirt. we came out just north of thep sadet.
3rd section
thep sadet-hwy1252 - 4009 rural road - 4047 rural road - muang noi - hwy 118( pong nam ron)
at the end of the 4047 you come to a t intersection we turned left and proceeded on dirt road for 30min until the road turned to walking track (you will nee to ask some villages some questions where to go) from the end of the 4047 to muang noi is a little more than 1 hrs riding, there are some short sections of rock that need a little balance but even if you had to push they are only 1 or 2 sections 10m long, we where using motard wheels and did it cleanly. the walking track is gorgeous offroad riding, in old growth forest with well established canopy(no undergrowth) _________________ let your right hand do the talking

Happy feet-
I consider myself the resident 1252 expert (no modesty here ) having done it in many conditions and directions and doing a number of posts on the topic. You have opened up an all new area of dirt loops that have not previously been explored. As Big & Tall is on his way back soon, this sounds like a "must do" for us. Good Job! _________________ Dave Early

Aha, so it looks like you found a way through from Hua Muang (R4047)to the Trekker House area. So my tip worked then.
My guess is there might be a few other dirt loop tracks ‘n trails going straight east from “Trekker House” onto R1035 if you want to look.
When I was on the Hua Muang road August (wet season) last year I was heavily impressed with the forest cover & new teak wood houses being built. The posts being used in the new houses were massive, but the thought of the rampant logging that must have been going on right under everyone’s noses sickened me. _________________ Davidfl

the villagers at the intersection also claimed a route could be made through to mae krachan from that villager hua muang, mostly singletrack would be my guess. as happyfingers said it was a beautiful area and i reckon could be done on any size dual purpose bike. _________________ crf450rcrf250rgsxr1000xr322wave100s |
