Todays loop started a bit late as I overslept and didnt get going until midday, I got to the highway and took the 1001 which was a bit busy until the last set of lights then a lot more enjoyable with not a lot of traffic. The water level at the dam was lower than I expected and I killed my second snake on the road to the dam today, totally unintentional and again it was only a smallish one, I wonder if the bigger ones die so easily, as I turned left heading for the dam off of 1001 I noticed to my right after about 1 km that there is a smaller dam that was not there that I knew of last holiday, Is this part of the same reservoir or a completely different one? Onwards to Phrao and then the 1150 through the hills to join the 118, all the time I was climbing, the road was perfect but after I started the first descent its a hit and miss affair with lots of places that have had landslides plus plenty of places with loose gravel, sand or dirt on the road, its like this for quite a long way. The 118 is a bit shitty with resurfacing taking place a couple of km after joining it, once past this its good all the way back to Chiang Mai

The 1150 is fairly "clean" now between Phrao and the 118, but one can see the evidence of many landslides from the recent rainy season.

The bridge on the east end of the 1323 near the junction with 1001 that was washed out in the 2005 rainy season has been replaced.
