I decided yesterday to try this for my first trip this holiday, usual pretty boring stuff until you are a fair way out of the city on 108 towards Hot. I always do the long trip through Hot and towards Mae Sarieng before taking the 1088 to Mae Chaem, the road about 5-10 km out of Hot towards Mae Sarieng has a few places where its not a great surface that might catch you out if youre really hammering it so go careful there. After turning towards Mae Chaem the first bridge is a temporary wooden one and theres a few places where there is a bit of shyte on the road but basically the surface is in good nick all the way. It was a bit windy getting nearer to the chedis and above them quite cold but it was an enjoyable trip
