Frank
Got your email ok, but been on the road for 2 days; however I'm now back in Cnx to escape the non-stop rain in Chiang Rai!
Thanks for joining. You only need complete that health form from Tony now.
We are only short 1 more guy to complete his health form & submit it to Tony.
Tony has advised that the premium is 10,225 baht for the THI W3000 policy, providing SOS + 600,000 IN Patient medical treatment. That's a steal im my book.
There is an option for both IN & OUT Patient treatment with a premium of 15,980 baht (IP +OPD 3) for 1,000 baht per day for doctors visits, up to 10,000 per year x-ray and lab tests, plus plus - get the full details off Tony at gt-rider.insure@e-insurethailand.com

Any other guys dragging their feet please get a move on, as it is possible coverage could start from 1st October. All you need to join now is complete a health form from Tony "& you're in."

The maximum age for enrollment is age 60. But renewal is to age 70.

If you are over 60 and want health insurance, though, we can help you get it. We represent all of the health insurance companies in Thailand and some outside of Thailand.

You don't need to visit us to get a quote; we do everything by e-mail, fax, telephone and EMS mail. E-mail us your age and we will send you a set of comparison spreadsheets showing you every plan available to you in Thailand and its cost for your age. In addition, we also offer a Senior Health Insurance plan from a company based in Hong Kong that has a rep located in Thailand.

If I can help you, please contact me at

Just in case some of you are in a comparable situation

Tony´s offers are very tempting indeed, much cheaper than anything in the European market.

After much thought I decided not to give up my German international health insurance simply because
it provides unlimited health coverage in terms of amount and age.
Plus, who knows if I will be still in Thailand xx years from now.

So, when I was in Germany recently I agreed on the maximum deductible, i.e. health cost that I have to pay before my insurance kicks in.
Thereby my premium was reduced by 50% and the deductible cash amount will not kill me.

The resulting premium is obviously still higher because of its unlimitedless than a Thai insurance.
As I said in earlier posts on the subject =
To be sick is bad enough but sick plus poor...............

You're all ok as far as i know.
There were no rejections, but apparently the lady at THI handling it went on maternity leave suddenly (baby could not wait?) before she sent out the cards. However this has all been rectified & the late joiners should be hearing from me late this week at a guess.
How's that new baby of yours - Africa Twin?

Hi guys
The rest of your GT Rider Group Insurance kit has arrived in Chiang Mai.
The kit includes a nationwide list of approved hospitals & clinics, plus an English language booklet with details of the policy coverage.

The full policy under the name “The Golden Triangle Riders” is with me.
This is a 21 page A4 document. If you want a copy let me know & I will photocopy & mail it to you.

I reckon that next year for a couple of thousand baht we could & should increase the coverage to 1 million baht, as it is so cheap as a group.

Thanks to all those who followed through & joined to make the group insurance a reality.

If anyone else is interested in joining, please contact me. You can still join on a pro rata basis, knocking off whatever months are not necessary.

This insurance is a steal with full SOS coverage. No medical check ups are necessary, only a signed health form statement. If you're not covered, then seriously think about it - SOS + 600,000 baht medical coverage a year for only 10,225 baht.

Hard to say when we don't know anything about the bike & value. Is it a 50cc pop or a 2000cc superbike?
Best bet is to email the GT Rider insurance man direct

Just did a voluntary insurance with Tony. What is helpfull that he also consolidates the mandatory insurance. I.e. there will be only 1 payment per year.

Everything went nice and smooth

Just a gentle reminder for those of you who might still not have health insurance. TJ currently in hospital is a member of the GT Rider group health insurance & his stay in hospital is covered.
So if you’re based in Thailand & still riding around Thai / Laos / Cambodia uninsured – do yourself a favour & get covered through the GT Rider group.
Basically for 10,225 baht a year (= 852 baht a month/ 28 baht a day) ) you get 600,000 baht of inpatient medical coverage a year, plus SOS if you stuff up “overseas.”
The current policy expires on 1st October 2008, when a new policy will issued. Meanwhile you can join on a pro rata basis - only 3 months to go & pay. Think about it if you’re not yet covered & have been sitting on the fence.

Hi David

Will post an actual report of procedure lature.

The main problem is, as I have only been a member for less than 1 year, the ins co. is checking to see if I have had this problem before. The Ins Co. is actually contactacting the local hospitals in Phuket.

So I have to pay my own hosp bill and get money back from Ins. co. Spoke to Tony and he said sometimes only takes about a week to get check

presumably if you have bike accident and come in on stretcher not so much of problem.

I was hoping to flas my insurance card then in and out, so for 1st visit people probably no need to pick hospital on sheet if only come in for medical treatment.

Tony been really helpfull and his Tha wife good for the translation.

this my first time in a majoj hospital so all a bit new, thought do a report to help others know what to expect....(wot happent to all the yummy sweets they would give after injections...)

more later

cheers

T.J.
