import tax in Cambodia?

Postby hs0zfe » 14.02.2010, 20:24

On cycletrader, lots of Buell bikes are being dumped by dealers. Like the adventure bike they make. $ 8,000 is ~ THB 265,000. I heard the import tax etc. is a lot less and that one can ride on such a plate in Thailand. Anyone flew a bike to Phnom Phen, then registered it etc.? Chris

There is quite a lot of info on the GT site - not always easy to find but it is there so keep searching. Just to help you, here is a post by Shadow who imported a new bike into Cambodia: http://www.gt-rider.com/thailand-motorc ... html#16025
"There's always something waiting at the end of the road, if you aren't willing to see what it is, you probably shouldn't be out there in the first place."

I flew a KTM525MXC into cambodia 3 years ago, i declared the bike at $1600, i paid $3500 taxes ! , this is 100 per cent true, and i had a very good khymer friend of mine try to negotiate, DO NOT FLY THE BIKE IN , the tarriff by sea is totally different,
