I took the 323 from Kanchanaburi to Sangkhlaburi today
Once you get out past Nam Tok it quietens down a lot and is a pleasant journey
As I rode past this lorry was still on its side and the bulldozer was about to pull it upright, I am certainly glad I wasnt leaning against that concrete post
The tree took some damage by the look of it, the windscreen of the lorry was completely smashed out but no sign of any injured people
This is a well surfaced good quality road some bends and roller coasters at times
After Thong Ta Phum it narrows and the surface isnt quite so good, but not much traffic at all
A pleasant journey of 215 km and about 4 hours riding, I check into the Burmese Inn as usual _________________ If Typhoo Put The T In Britain Who Put The C_unt In Scunthorpe |

A really nice ride. We did it just before Xmas and it was the last decent ride we did on the TDM before we traded it in.
When we got to Sangkhlaburi, we rode around in circles for ages, not convinced that we were actually in Sangkhlaburi. Not even a 7-11!

Yes its a funny place, it could really do with a 7-11 as then I might actually be able to get a large Pepsi or Coke thats cold. Western food is also not so easy here, when I first visited four years ago there was a Thai that did okay steak&fries then he opened AFC, his own version of KFC then he moved out to Kanchanaburi. An American named Jimmy has now bought the place and although burgers and steaks are on the menu I have yet to go there when anyone knows how to cook, they always say sorry no food. I tend to eat at the Burmese Inn where I stay but chicken in batter with chips is the only thing on their menu which I find appetising, but I only ever stay two nights anyway so no real problem _________________ If Typhoo Put The T In Britain Who Put The C_unt In Scunthorpe |
