Thanks Tubber,
Interesting news from motociclismo.it... As the engine should be derivated from the FZ1 one...

At least, here is the first FZ8 "official picture" from Yamaha:

A sort of a FZ1, "800cc sauce" isn't it? Nice and clean bike apparently...

It'll get the tough task to compete the Kawasaki Z750 (a best-seller in Europe, 1st in France) on the market...

The question remains:
"Will the FZ8 available in Thailand, and at what price?"

Wink

So looking at the picture it's a transverse 4 cylinder engine, so as you say probably maybe based on an FZ-1. So maybe reduce the bore or more than likely reduce the stroke so it's a little screamer. Can't really see the picture clear enough to see how the engine compares with the FZ-1.

Maybe tough in Europe but not so much competition in Thailand. From what both JG and myself have heard it will be available in Thailand. What price? With the strength of the Yen and the FTA with Japan, anybodies guess. Present FZ-1 650,000B, FZ-6 495,000B, so probably closer to 600,000B than 500,000B.

Yes Tubber, according motociclismo.it, FZ8 engine is derived from FZ1 one by reducing bore and stoke. They guess 120 hp vs 160 hp for the FZ1...

For sure no competition in LOS! FZ8 just is its own market.

For the price, wait and see, but I agree with you. Maybe between 550 and 600 KB...

Was at the Yamaha Rider Club Bangkok, Saturday to meet up with Rossi and Lorenzo, pics to follow later today in events section.
All the top Yamaha Big Bike team there and no-one any information about arrival date or price of FZ8, but all sure not due in the next few months.
