Hello everybody !
As I read many topics about Minsk bikes and road-trips in Vietnam, I thought I may be able to give you an idea of what it could be... Here are few pics...
This pic was taken on the road to Than Uyen. Useless to say more...
Sometimes, roads are not so good... But so enjoyeable...
This is when you wake up in Than Uyen...
On the road to Nghia Lo...

Nice landscapes...
In Hanoi, before the trip...
Sometimes... Dirt bikes...
Rice everywhere...

More and more pics taken during my Vietnam trips...
I definitively miss these moments... [ ]
The sun comes down on the road to Phu Yen... VERY nice road
Middle of nowhere... (Phu Yen - Nghia Lo)
From the top of the mountains before arriving in Lai Chau
Our guide and friend, Tuan. Nice bike, by the way... Boat cross of the Hoa Binh barrage lake...
Fesh river in hot weather... (Sapa - Than Uyen)
Avalanche of rice fields... (Sapa - Than Uyen)
When I wanted to buy a pair of boots, that's what I found inside... A nice baby mouse...
Somewhere between Hanoi and Mai Chau (by the south, not by Hoa Binh...)
Approaching Mai Chau...
On the road to Phu Yen (VERY VERY nice road...)

Fantastic shots!!
Last biked around North Viet back in 1998 - but it was in February so dry.
You obviously had a lot of rain - when did you go?
Got a pillion - so is September likely to be a month too early to avoid a 1000km mudbath?? |

Hey Seb,
We are planning to do a unguided trip in February 2006. We plan to hire a couple of bikes and spend two or three weeks. Can you sugest a good itinery and do you think unguided will be OK ? Is February a good month weather wise ? How much should we expect to pay for bikr hire ? Is the general vibe of the place friendly.
