As I break small bits of my bike from time to time, I come across Great Mechanics that need mention. In Savanakhet, Louis Motocross shop is by far one of the best I have come across in Laos. He speaks no Englik but knows bikes. He has a custom built MotoX bike he rides and great pics of high flying acrobatics on it. He fixed my friend's DT 175 with great care. His shop is located on the parallel street to the river, one back. Start from the Lao Paris Cafe across from the passenger terminal, go one block away from the river, turn left, three small blocks down on the left side just before the temple. It's hardly marked and the next building is Karnya Viengnakhorn Export-Import.
Very descent on price as well, he needed a part from across the river in Mukdahan and didn't charge me more than an extra 150 baht for it.
