Yup, something's changed here (new management?).

I've used them a few times before and the price has been 150 THB including degreasing and re-lubing the chain. That's a very reasonable price to me and the bike has been retuned absolutely spotless.

Now the last couple of times the price was 200 THB and the bike more like clean-ish, and at the last visit they forgot to lube the chain...

That looks the business David, I guess thats my first stop when I get my Kawasaki 250 KLX to get something like that put on it, 2200 Baht is a small price to pay for comfort, its half of what I paid for the Airhawk.
How long does he need the bike there for to do the work

Unless something better suddenly appears on the market in the next four months Ron I think that the KLX is the logical choice

Just another plug for the seat magician. Now done 3 trips to Chiang Khong + 1 to Loei & am totally satisfied with the finished product.

Following advice posted here, I went to the seat magician this week for a new seat for my Africa Twin.

    Seat magician upholsterer.
145/5 Chiang Mai - Lamphun Road
    Tel: 086 262 6338.
    GPS WAYPOINT: N18 46.957 E99 00.350

As I had a day to spare I decided to sit and watch Khun Narong perform his magic.

Here's the front of his shop.

Narong learnt this craft from his older sister from when he was about age 6 and has been doing this job for about 23 years.
    His experience is obvious.

    Name: DSC02908.jpg

I'd never seen a seat being made from scratch before, so I asked if I could look and learn then post the pics on GT-Rider.
He knew about GT-R and welcomed my presence. We chatted away in reasonable English and bad Thai while he worked.

    Name: DSC02952.jpg

Once the seat had been formed and fitted I was invited to ride around for a day just to make sure it was adequately comfortable.
I did so and returned to Narong saying that I needed a bit more support under the jewels.
No problem; more padding was added and sculptured.

    Name: DSC02955.jpg
Views: 921

Once he was sure that I was sure of the seat's comfort he started the process of making and fitting the skin....

Another satisfied customer. Recommend the place.
A polite and friendly craftsman in Khun Narong.

I just went to this shop today, and the price is now 2500 baht for a re-upholstered D-Tracker/KLX seat. He actually adds a layer of soft rubber above the upholstery. I have two days to decide whether or not to do it because he's fully booked for 2 days.

I'd like some feedback from someone who has had this done, particularly with a D-Tracker/KLX seat. Also, how does the seat feel after 1 or more years? Pictures of a re-upholstered D-Tracker seat would be nice as well.

    Hi Garet.
I called in there today too and found him working on Captain Slash's KLX seat, which will be ready by 4pm.
The Captain should be able to provide full details.

    Another plug for his services.
He finished my seat for my F650GS on Saturday and while I haven't done more than 150 km on it yet, it feels better than the stock padding.
    Price: 2500 baht
