I rode out of Fang at about 8.30 this morning to a very gloomy start

I stayed on the 107 until just after Chai Prakarn then did a left onto the 1346



It started to look more like it was going to rain, but thankfully it didnt







This is a good road, not much traffic but good scenery and good corners



The only thing missing today was the sunshine



At the T junction I turned left onto the 1150 and rode into Phrao, there I took a right and rode on the 1001 back to Chiang Mai.
It was the 8th january when I left Chiang Mai on this trip, now just over a month later I finally get back and I will enjoy a few days relaxing now

Bloody hell Captain, those pix of the twisties on R1346 turn me right on.
Just picked up the AT after a Snail tune-up & my return from Oz.
If I don't do the MHS Loop in a few days, it will have to be the DAK / Fang Loop with R1346 thrown in for desert.
Unbelievable isn't it - R1346 really is literally one of the hidden gems of North Thai - as I don’t think it's really on any maps yet. (OK someone catch me out!)

Welcome back! I must have just missed you at the Kafe. Sorry to be the one, but the 1346 is on the ESRI / Rotweiller maps.

Another good trip report Colin, nice pics although as you say, shame about the sunshine.

Good to meet up with you at The Kafe this evening, nice to put a face to your posts and amazing to meet yet another person in Thailand from UK that lived only a few miles from me when I lived there.

Hope you manage to enjoy your relaxing stay in Chiang Mai.

And 1346 is on the Thailand Highway Map of 2005 but not on the 2003 version.

And of-course it has been already a few years on the David's GPS map with most of the village names along the road - something which is not on the ESRI/Rotweiler GPS map.

Another good one Capt.
I was reading the report and some of the folk in the office started looking over my shoulder and asking where it was and who took the photos etc..
One of the questions tickled me: why are there so many photos of roads?
That's why me and many others read the reports...for the roads. Just got some puzzled looks back. Ah well, I love the photos and they're a great help to me and others planning our next trip.
