    Trat

For accommodation I always stay at Pop Guest House, its a clean place run by Sunny and her policeman husband, they are nice people. I pay 120 Baht for a fan room with a double bed, there are aircon private bungalows as well

Cool Corner Cafe just a bit further along from Pops does Thai and Western food, I had a very good homemade English sausages and chips with fried onions there

Joys Pizza is 2km out of Trat going towards Laem Ngop, its just before the PTT/7-11 but on the other side of the road, I have usually ate there whenever I am in Trat, Joys Husband is French and does a very nice pizza

    My very enjoyable dinner

I stayed 1 night in Trat earlier on in the year before catching the ferry to Koh Chang and even that was too long. Stayed at the SA Hotel which was rather bland but not bad for bt500 with A/C. Went out at 8pm to get a pizza at Joy's Pizza only to find it shut, I can see by the posted pic it had been shut 3 hours already. Found a KFC and even that shut at 9pm. Ended up in a Thai pub called Somkanay which bucked the trend of Trat being an early to bed kind of place, got there around 9.30pm and nobody there apart from staff, then the customers started rolling in around 10.30pm and it got fairly busy for a week night.

When I go to Ko Chang, we often stop over at Banpu Resort Trat, which is a few km down a left turn after Trat, on the way to Lame Knob
    http://www.banpuresortandspa.com/en/
It has a swimming pool plus other facilities, and great seafood on a pier over the ocean. Should get it for less than the advertised rate. Not too busy. (Last visit a couple of years back)

I have nothing but bad to say about they handling compensations on that "resort"

ones we checked in and after dinner by the sea when to bed..
around 3am our bed was filled by ants, literally hundrets of them..Yes i know im sweet person
But we took that issue right on that point to reception and what happend,,,nothing about 30minutes, no one showd up,,then some one turned up and want to spray the bed, no one was talking about changing up to different room so we could continue sleep and resort was dead empty,,,
Next morning i make A "Little sceen about what happend last night in the resort by asking the manager's phone number,,, wow they almos run away all of them, refused to give it to me,, so i explaned to them little bit customer service as i do that by my self

so then after abt 30minutes got her number Khun Wipha 081-3763710 just incase some else are in trouble in there.

I explaned to her what happend as she was in BKK at the time, so she told me that she will call back after she check with the reception what happend,, so an other 30minutes got she phoned, got 10% discount what is peanuts.

Thing in here is, i just did thins for testing how reception respond for claims against the staff's request, i was not angry any time while talking to them just Mr.Nice guy(harheaded customer) but have to say, they have no clue what they are doing in there(reception)

other than that, resort it self is nice, Bfast sucks and it's cold

And after that we have desided not to stay on that place any more.
