Chiang Mai Toy Ride Bo Kaew Charity Give Away

CHIANG MAI TOY RIDE BO KAEW CHARITY GIVE AWAY

    http://www.chiangmaitoyride.com/index.htm

    CHILDREN'S DAY. SATURDAY 10th January 2009

    THE MASTERPLAN
Meet at Tesco Lotus Khamtieng 9.45 AM
    Depart Tesco Lotus 10.30 AM
Ride 78 kms Chiang Mai - Mae Rim - Samoeng- Huai Mana - Bo Kaew

Above: the GPS way. Real riding in real mountains.

Samoeng - Bo Kaew = 30 kms tight steep narrow winding asphalt including 4 kms brick paving, all with excellent forest cover.
At the Bo Kaew end: 5 kms bumpy potholed asphalt may make some inexperienced sport bike riders uneasy, but at the right speed it is all OK!

    BO KAEW
Arrive Bo Kaew School approx 12-12.15 PM
Treat 200 Karen Hill tribe kids to lunch
Donate 200 toys to Karen Hill tribe kids
Donate 150 blankets to 150 households

    RETURN
Ex Bo Kaew approx 2.00 - 2.30 PM
Return to Chiang Mai, the same way.

Happy hour at the X-Centre for those so inclined.
Arrive home feeling good - a nice ride for the day, gained merit by helping kids in need.

This is a real ride for bigger bikes, but all motorcyclists are welcome to come in & join. Note too that smaller bikes will be a lot quicker on the tight narrow steep winding 30 kms from Samoeng - Bo Kaew.

If you're not sure where Huai Mana & Bo Kaew are, they are on the GT Rider Mae Hong Son Loop map.

A cloudy overcast cool - chilly day.

12? bikes fronted up at Tesco Lotus

It was a non-stop run to Samoeng for a re-group

Where we rendezvous-ed with Hoghead & the Toys

The best dressed bike for the day

Arrival in Bo Kaew at the school just on 12.20PM & lunch was ready to be served to the kids

Then lunch was served 200+ kids

The kids ate their lunch on the school football field

Dancing & songs were put on by the school kids for entertainment

Some of the kids were dressed up for the event

Then, last but not least it was time for the toy give-away.

    Lined up for toys

Patiently lined up for their turn

    Satisfied

Even the teachers at Bo Kaew school enjoyed themselves

From L: The school headmaster, OTOP Bo Kaew, GT Rider, OTOP Samoeng.

THANK YOU to all the riders who turned up. It was a good day.
