The black one looks bigger, saw some pix on the net which look like it has DOHC; the silver one looks like a SOHC 125. Also header pipe and the upper engine mounts to the frame differ.
Any word about the X125 coming to Thailand?
You are right the silver engine mount is the smaller x-road 125 ...the black engine mount is from the x-road 250...i made some pics during the Tiger/Sachs Factory Tour and have them in full size uploaded for better zooming .

Not heard anything of the x125 coming....something i shall ask them.

Looks like the one you saw in BKK is a SOHC; if you google it you'll see a black air cooled DOHC engine - maybe for the european market?

I've tried direct link, IMG and HTML Code, one of them should work, it worked before...

    Hi KZ,

Since none of them pics really opened i posted it again in tumbnail size ( click to enlarge)

    [rimg:2y4dyj1m]http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm108/negerkuss/SachsXroad.jpg[/rimg:2y4dyj1m]

For me it was always clear that it is a SOHC.
Here the specs on the intro in BKK ( picture taken from TonyBkk and posted earlier in this thread)
    [rimg:2y4dyj1m]http://www.asianconnection71.com/013010SachsXRoad250SpecsSSR.jpg[/rimg:2y4dyj1m]

You mentioned the Sachs X-Road 250 DOHC for european market? Is the X-road 250 actually made and sold in europe?

    Re: Sachs X-Road 250:

In the picture you can clearly see that the engine has two overhead cams and looks bigger overall, it's not the same as in the bike at the BKK Tiger factory.
It might be a prototype or a version for another market. That's speculation on my part; why shouldn't Sachs make the bike available at the home market?
In Germany it would have to be technically more interesting to sell. If all the japanese are watercooled DOHC it would look silly to offer an old-fashioned air-cooled SOHC that couldn't run away from a Varadero 125. It might be good enough for Thailand, though; a sophisticated FI engine might bring the sales price too close to the KLX250. But again that's pure speculation, I don't want to start any rumors here!
Currently Sachs offers in Gerrmany only 50 and 125cc motorcycles; 9 flavors of 50cc and 3 125cc scooters, a 125cc Roadster streetbike, a supermoto style and an Enduro. The MadAss 50 and 125. An electric scooter. Also electric bicycles and a bicycle with a 30cc two-stroke. To offer a 250 X Road would make sense.
These bikes must be made in China since they're not made in Thailand. Seems like SFM hooked up with Tiger to assemble a limited range of bikes for the Thai market. That could lead to models differing from another even though they are named the same.
Here's the link to their website, the company is now called SFM for "Sachs Fahrzeug und Motorentechnik":
    http://www.sfm-bikes.de/de/
There's even an article about a test comparing the 125 Enduro to the Yamaha WR125 - of course the Yamaha is the better bike but also way more expensive.
The electro bikes won international tests and were judged "Very Good", so the quality is german.

    KZ,

All we can do is speculate really ...what we know for sure is what we have here and now (madass & Kikass).
I personally think the ZZ 125 was taken for the German market and if the x-road will actually be sold in germany remains to be seen....
here a picture of the zz125:
    [rimg:22blksp0]http://www.sfm-bikes.de/upload/produkte/produktbild_zoom_280.png[/rimg:22blksp0]
Having just looked at the Sachs Page again...i find if they could put an 250cc FI engine in the roadster (currently 125cc) that would be a nice looking naked bike for here. Sure a competition to the Tiger Boxer 250RS too , but maybe if they can find some similarities on both bikes it could be done...but this is me doing some "wishing" or speculating

here a picture of the roadster:

The Roadster looks nice, but a 250cc version would take sales away from the Tiger 250...
The 125cc Enduro/supermoto should be available here, there's no other makers selling a bike like this; the KLX/Tracker 125 is too small and too expensive! A reliable, good-looking 17" wheel supermoto for 70.000 THB should sell well!
Officially there's no dealer in Thailand yet - who sells the KikAss and the MadAss?
Here in Phuket I see lots of KSR110, the people love to put on aftermarket parts, I've even seen a complete plastic race bike set! The KikAss looks good right out of the box, has a 125cc motor and should be cheaper. But I've never seen a Sachs on the road!
Here's the SFM international link, featuring an ATV which the german site does not:

Well, since the Boxer and the Sachs come from the same factory/assembly here in Thailand it really shouldn't matter who makes more sales .
Actually Tiger is assembly and dsitributer from Sachs Bikes in Thailand ...just because it isn't on their website doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I had the pleasure to get in touch with the administrator of a madass club in chile and the madass seem to sell pretty well there so here is the chile dealers website: http://www.madass.cl/....but according to Sachs Website there is no dealer in Chile same goes for columbia really here is their website ( note:that site has an "attack page" warning ): http://www.sachsbikescolombia.com/
Tells us that the sfm-bikes.de dealers list is not quite complete.

The Kikass is closer to 130cc actual ( although it is still sold as Kikass 125) and the new price is 57900 thb . You can buy it actually online here (delivered to your place or the postoffice close to you): http://www.tigersachsclub.com/sproduct.html
Almost all accesories for the KSR will also fit the Kikass. I think you may see more madasses here than kikasses
and Tiger Service Center will also Service the Sachs Bikes. Dealerships may not easily found but once again, anyone who sells Tiger Bikes is usually capable to sell Sachs Bikes. I know quite a few people like the Sachs Bikes both the Kikass and Madass are often asked for but Dealers here seem to see it unimportant to stock or display. I can say that i have quite a few inquiries and sales of the Kikass (& Madass) in the last few months.

FYI.Tiger/Sachs Club is official online Seller for Tiger & Sachs Bikes (wife and myself looking after this online Shop)

    Re: Sachs X-Road 250:

About three weeks ago, I received a solicitation to buy one of the first 10 units @THB89000. It was to be badged a Tiger Boxer 250RS, and to be equipped with a carb, as opposed to EFI. Truth told, if I hit the lottery, I would buy one, just for the 'uniqueness' factor, although I would have grave concerns about the supply chain in the coming months.

I actually waited through January before buying my current bike, based on the Tiger guy's assurances that they would go on sale in January. Since that deadline came and went, I have been eagerly awaiting an announcement. Better late than never, I guess, and I do wish them success. If they can overcome the inertia that seems to have built up around this offering, I think the bike will sell well at THB99,000, assuming, of course, that they can service and support their customers.

    Timing is everything.

@ Sateev, a lot of things have changed in 3 weeks since they contacted you. It will not be badged Tiger Boxer 250 RS but badged as Tiger X-road 250. It is with a carb, but it is not the same engine as the Boxer 250 RS. Lots of stories have been told on several forums about the final configuration of the bike, still little things changed or were not fully known untill early this week. I will go to the factory on Wednesday to get my X-road. As soon as i have it, i will put some pictures up here, if i am not out for a ride with the X-road.

    Thanks for the update, Alex.

I haven't yet ruled out buying one, and I have to admit it would be a purely emotional choice, since it is as yet an unknown. I have seen big plans for the bike, but only time will tell if they come to pass...

Please do take the time to post your impressions as they develop. Have fun...

The above referenced Wednesday, and quite a few others, have passed, so, where is the beast?

I see they're selling them, with F.I., in Oz, but so far, no news here in Thailand.

Bad news for me is that it has a seat height of 890mm! And that with 17" tires.

I hope platform shoes come back in style...

    Post when you can.

    Thanks, mbox.

Hope to hear from Alex, or any other owner: riding impressions, build quality, etc.

I still have (somewhat) high hopes for this bike. Note that they are selling with fuel injection in Australia...

I heard they had plans of FI in OZ ...is it in fact available now? I read only on websites that it'll come in future but nowhere telling that it is actually available now.
If you have a link to a page about Xroad FI can you please post it? I would be keen to read about.
