Chiang Mai: Siri Ghouse. In Chiang Mai I really have to recommend Siri Guesthouse on Moon Muang Soi 5. An alley down from the traffic, totally new and clean, (to me it was a hotel-room), 200 B. Very quiet!

We stayed there recently and found the place as described. Price is now 250B and they don't take bookings.

However, it's rainy season and our gear was wet, so hung it over the railing to dry. After a day I was asked to remove my remaining pants, now luckily dry. When I asked the owner where I could hang up my rain jacket, etc. he said "Sorry, we don't have facilities for drying." and suggested I take it to a laundry!

The gate is padlocked 19h-7h. (You can only get small bikes in or out during that time.)

I'll be staying elsewhere next time.

Decent pool

Building has secure covered parking with security guards

Prob. most convenient location in Chiangmai (if you can find a better location in cnx please show me). ie Tesco-lotus next to building, best restaurants 1 minutes walk.

Haha, yes for you anytime but it will first require that you dig deep and buy a bloody airticket . Been away from Sydney 8 years and you havent visited once yet

Baan Say La Guest House on 4-4/1 Nimmanhaemin Rd. (Soi with the big SCB Bank on the corner) is a very cool GH.

Decour is fantastic, immaculate inside and has off street parking for bikes. It's in the best area for the bar scene.
