Today I spotted a 2006 BMW F650 Dakar for sale.
Looked good, 4000 kms.
Would appear to be a good bike for this area (Chiang Mai and beyond).
I haven't been able to find any comprehensive and credible reviews of this bike, so what is the 'word on
the street' about them?

Tom Forde has one, name of Doris and he has been everywhere and back on it. He would not call it an off road bike for Thai off road terrain, but in Australian terms could be considered a dirt bike.
