Route 211

Has any one lately traveled the 211 Nong Khai to Chiang Khan.
I am on a ninja 650 and was wondering how good that road is as have heard a while back it was pretty chopped up and corrugated.
I am in Udontani and am looking at a day or 2 in Nong Khai then doing the 211 to Chiang Khan then 201 to Loei then 203 etc back to Chiang Mai.

David,
You should take this road, most of it is fine with great views of the river, just slow down for some of the rough bits, most of the holes are avoidable. If you have never been try it, as the alternative, going down to Udon and across the 210 is much less interesting

The 211 is one of my favorites, did it on the bicycle twice and motorcycle about 5 times. Very scenic, with nice rollers. Bit bumpy in places but not bad.
I lucked out with a side road last trip, just after Si Chiang Mai turn left on the 2266 then a right onto the 2348. The 2348 was fabulous views and very little traffic. A nice alternative way to Loei.

Thank you John and thank you Marcus I am really looking forward to that scenic road the 211.
Heading to Nong Khai tomorrow will stay a night there and look around am very much looking forward to it.
