    Versys Tourer

I went to Kawa Chiang Mai yesterday and found this on display in the showroom.
    Looks very nice too.

Givi boxes, hand guards, variable screen, radiator guard, strengthened side stand, engine side guards, rear wheel guard. Available in white, yellow or green. Only a couple of weeks waiting after ordering (as I was informed).
    368,000 baht.
Wondering what others think of it.

Someone in CNX already has one, the same with white boxes etc. I saw him at the Xcentre the day after he picked it up and he came to the last GTR dinner. Looks very trick indeed.
So much to do, so little time - Drop the clutch and ride the wheel.

The one that was at The X Centre was this one.
I've since had the two bits at the side of the radiator matched in white and the bit that surrounds the headlight painted black to match the rest of the front end.
To be fair, these are not the Versys touring model. They are just stock bikes customised by the dealer, hence different ones having different types of luggage, extras & price tags etc.
The one currently in Kawasaki CM shown above is in a white used on Mitsubishi cars, mine is the same pearl white as used on the 250 Ninja's.
The yellow one they had looked very nice although I don't imagine it would be to everyone's taste.

I have a red Versys and have been considering changing to Yellow. But do you really think there are different Versys bikes? Ik thing what in Europe is sold as a Tourer is just the same bike as the City only the extra's are different.

Hi Cloughy and welcome to the forum. Your bike is looking good and look forward to a trip report or two. Do you have the stock tires or did you change them?

    Thanks for the welcome.
I'm still using the stock tires. I've just moved up from the Ninja 250 so I'm pretty sure I'm not riding the bike anywhere near to what it can be ridden so the stock tires are fine in my opinion. It's my first "big" bike so I'm sure as I get more used to it this may be a consideration for the future.

If the extras are different doesn't that make the bike different?
If this is not the case then the bike in CM Kawasaki is just the same as mine. Many different parts on each bike will surely alter the weight & set up of the bike and change performance & handling of said bike I would have thought.

The yellow one did look good in my opinion, more of a custard yellow than a real bright yellow.
I also think it would look nice in the blue the Ninja comes in or the orange as well

Lees bike is stunning. Amazing how the whole character of the bike changes with the white conversion. Jurgen and Ed also have them in white. If Kawasaki arrange on an already registered bike , the repaint costs bht 7500 for Pearl white using your plastics. Straight colours are around 5k

The Givi boxes are still not my thing, even color matched. But hey, can't please everyone right. Love the white though, looks very nice.

I happened to see two silver ones at the Kawa dealer, special order for somebody - dark silver, looked excellent. The Kawa dealer's prices for painting are high but they are using a very professional auto paint shop and you can see that. I thought dark silver was maybe a new color - wouldn't have guessed these were aftermarket.

I had my headlight frame blacked out yesterday, Kawa CM wanted 1000 baht for most likely a very professional job, but the mechanic said he could do it cheaper and in the end didn't charge me anything. It's just spray painted, but hey can't complain for that price

Do you have a photo of that nikster as I have never liked the silver headlight frame?

Sorry no photo right now but it looks good. Doesn't stick out like the silver one. I've seen a few like that already, including the one in the picture above.

They look much better with the headlight surround in black. Ed has his half black half white to follow the lines of the front end. It looks better than it sounds to be fair.
I like this one in silver. I was only talking with someone about a week ago saying they would probably look good in silver as well. They ought to have done something with the headlight surround on this one though, it doesn't match any part of the bike in any way at all.
I think the two black plastic parts which come around the radiator look much better painted to match as well.

Another thought, I wonder if that's a 2012 ninja 250 in the back ground of the silver versys .....

They had a bunch of red and green ones, the green one said special edition on it.
Checking the Kawa website - oh yeah the red one looked exactly like on the Kawasaki.com page, so it was a 2012. Damn I'd have taken more pictures had I known that

I _thought_ the headlight looked a bit different. The green one looked different from what's on Kawasaki.com - I am not sure its the same green; the ones on the lot were lime green, e.g. Kawasaki's racing green, and had those weird stripes that I'd take off first thing... Edit: Saw some other images and that was the same green, for some reason Kawasaki's own website's colors are off.

Per request - black front. I am embarrassed at how dirty she is in that picture; but it's the rainy season and I am in Pai and it's all mud and rain all the time. Blacked out front looks great though.

Indeed, a huge improvement as it seems to detract from the rather ugly nose on this bike. Going to buy a can of matt black spray tomorrow.

With the silver gone, it's much improved - I wouldn't even call it ugly anymore

No. I told the Kawa mechanic to do it and he did it.
