    BMW Oil Filters

    A mate of mine who has a BMW but is tired of their service bills, sent me for following;
    'I need an oil filter for my 6 year old series 1 R
    1200 GS BMW, the bmw part # K25 1142767341 and expensive. Does anyone
    know of an alternative that is available?'

    Can any one help out here?
    Thanks, Ron

    I use K&N filters for both my bimmer & trumpet.
    Primarilly as they have a nut for easy change.
    Available from Fast Corner between 6-700thb each.
    There was a fella advertising cheaper filters on this form -
    p'haps David has details.
    Cheers

    As it happens I have one original R1200GS filter in box with sump washer here at home. Bought 3 from a UK dealer, used 2 before I swapped for the 800 GS. Can have that one for 500 baht, I think that's about what it cost me.

    Yep, Brett Cooper distributes Hi-Flo filters in Thailand.
    His website and contact info: http://www.merkamx.com/
    Email him, he's usually quite prompt in responding.

    I'm currently awaiting an order for an air and some oil filters for my F650GS and oil filters for my Suzuki 250 Djebel.
    Hi-Flo products have decent reviews online.
    BTW, reportedly Hi-Flo make filters for K&N, but the K&N filters may be of different specs?

    Many thanks Rhodie, John and cdrw. My mate contacted Hi-Flo and is very happy.
    He sent the following mail;
    'Brett has come back already so I am ordering two. Really great help and response from all concerned, thanks and cheers, Douglas.'

    Thanks Azoulay. As you can see from the above, my mate did business with Brett Cooper and was super happy with the result and the service.
