    Motorbiking in Pokhara, Nepal

    Motorbiking in Pokhara, Nepal [
    Info
Pokhara is a big city near the big annapurna rockys of 8000m (in the north of pokhara). The city is only on 800m, an it is about 25-30C in october and always dry. The tourist area is near the nice pewa lake. In the north and south of pewa lake are mountains with about 1500m. From the small village in the north mountain, which is named Sarangkot, many paragliders start there and landing near the lake.
Map of the tourist area and interesting places:

    Motorbikes
You can rent a scoter or a enduro. But the motorbikes are very different to thailand, but „something“ is the same.

The have only tis „Hartfort“ 150ccm Enduros, about 800-1000R (8-10EU) per day to rent.

Many things on this bike remember me on my old Yamaha 80ccm from 1985

Scoters are from 50ccm to 250ccm. We had 50ccm 2-stroke scoters.

Tour near the lake to the west
The road goes everytime near the lake

Buffalos take a bath in the fresh water, about 25C warm

Then we have to cross this small river, but it is not easy with a scoter, ha ha

They have a busline to the last village.

End of the street, in a small village

The way back, there are about 4 landing places for paraglider

At the end of pokhara we stop at nice Lemongrass Restaurant, a cheap restaurant with a nice view to the lake and WiFi.

My friend was happy when he got this nice burger

Yes captain, this year in the summer i had a great trip to croatia, but not with motorbike

    Sarangkot Viewpoint
Near the top you will passing the paraglider startplace.

The last 5minutes must walk to the top where is a armypoint too

Then back to the lake for lunch in the Lemongrass Restaurant. These are vegetable fried momos, very good!

    World Peace Stupa
From the main road you can drive up a dirt road and parking. From the parking place about 5-10min to walk then you see the stupa

The great view from the stupa to pewa lake and pokhara

Near the stupa is a small restaurant with a panoramic view

Behind the small restaurant is a big nice restaurant with a roof top restaurant

    A last view

    Pics of Pokhara

Pokhara Airport when we departure from Jomsom

    Bus to Kathmandu
There a some different bus companys. We take the ac-bus from Baba, a good choice because the trip can be very dusty.

The ticket was 1250R (12,50EU) per person. The bus need 7-8Std (incl. 45 stop) to Kathmandu.
In Kathmandu we don’t stay in the tourist area Thamel. The Haus Namaste is a little bite outside, about 15min to Thamel walking, but a nice place
