    CBR250R Camshaft Tensioner broken.

Just a head's up to other owners if they have the same symptoms.

A ticking/clicking sound from the engine when cold.

Turns out I need a new camshaft tensioner.

Other issues with the bike is engine knocking when under load. And just before taking it in to be fully serviced the power went from above 6000-7000rpm, and it would just free rev when above this approx rpm.

The camshaft tensioner is noted as wear and tear and not covered by warranty - bike is 12 months old with 24,000km.

Hopefully it didn't damage such things as the valves which could be bent as a result. Or debris getting in the oil and causing any other damage. Which if is the case I hope it should be under warranty and not 'wear and tear'.

Just a heads up to anyone who hears ticking/clicking when the engine is cold.

Just hoping that nothing else was damaged by it. Bent valves etc.

Is listed as wear and tear and not covered by warranty, hopefully any damage it caused won't be the same 'wear and tear' on a 12 month bike.
