I just bought the map, good stuff!
I've tried searching for info on the following questions, sorry if I'm actually repeating someone else's, but here goes:
- I plan to go from VTE to LPB on the western road that goes through Xanamkhan, Pak Lay etc. (on advice from Jo at COPE, check out www.copelaos.org) Since you on other rivers have commented on the crossings, should I gather that there are bridges or crossings that will not be a problem? (Being the Mekong, I reckon I'll need to get in on a boat?)
- On closer inspections there seems not to be a road from Phalat (just south from Xanamkhan) westwards, or am I in the wrong?
- I'm a novice when it comes to engines, how deep can the river be, and what measures should I take? I will be riding a Baja 250.
Thanks! |

| Where is it possible to get the map if you are in the UK or possibly purchase near the friendship bridge. |

If you're starting from Singapore, you can get the map in Sing from Chan Kok Pyng at M-Technik.net. That will be easiest & cheapest.

| Just for info: I bought the map here in Luang Namtha. Normally available from Green Discovery, the tourist office or the tour co. next door. |
