Hi all, I'm new to the site. Me and wife are riding to Indonesia (and shipping the bike back to Europe), all the way from Europe a and will be spending few weeks in riding through Malaysia. We are riding on a Yamaha TDM 900 and would like to get the valve clearance checked and adjusted. Unfortunately Thailand (where we are right now) has not got that many big bikes and getting the TDM serviced is not quite possible. So I would appreciate if you good folks could recommend me a reliable place in any large town or a city, KL, George Town etc (I could well do the valve clearance myself if I can get/order the shims somewhere).
Kind regards,
Athula

No trouble to get your bike serviced properly in Chiang Mai.

If you send an email to Bangkok Riders, they have a few members that live in Malaysia.

Had a friend living in Penang with a Hyabusa, and he took it to be serviced on the mainland.

When riding south on freeway, near the exit to Penang Bridge, if you look to your right you will see a number of motor car dealers, turn off freeway here, and amongst those dealers is a really good bike shop.

Here is the url; for the TDM-Singapore group. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/TDM-SGP/ They should be able to help I would think. It's possible to get routine service on TDM in Chiang Mai but not many parts are available and no one has a set of valve shims.
