Chiang Khan is not easy to find something that has off street parking & is or over priced, or tiny.

I had a bad experience here last trip, getting kicked out of my Guesthouse at 3pm in the afternoon, & swore I wouldn't go back, but Chiang Khan still has a bit of a lure on he Mekong.
After spending considerable time on google maps & booking.com, then riding round for what seemed like hours I ended up at Ban Aomsin

Like most places in Chiang Khan, a small premises, but excellent location in Soi 17 & with of-street parking.
I got the last room, a small one, but for the 600 baht price it did the trick. (the bungalows must be better too I guess.)

A small bathroom, but everything worked

My only complaint is they could have replaced the broken door lock, but never mind. It's probably just one room - the last one I got, so I was thankful.

Now on the way out I spied what looked like a gem of a little place on the cornr of Soi 17 & the walking street market road.
Small, good parking

I just spent a day up there. I booked a room at the Chic Chiangkhan Hotel, which is located at the Eastern end of the Walking Street near the temple.

We encountered the same issue of there being no off-road parking, but there was a house down Soi 20 that you can use for 100b a night.

Our room was tiny and you could hear every noise from the adjoining rooms. Having to remove footwear before entering the hotel when wearing full riding gear is a ballache too.

Not recommended.

Chiang Khan is OK for a quick visit, but has little to offer to those looking to stay somewhere for longer than a couple of days.

Yes the thrill of staying in old Chiang Khan.
Over rated & over priced accommodation, no off street parking & generally poor sound proofing in those imitation classic old houses.
Bring on a decent find from someone with off street parking, clean, spacious, and quiet.

I did see this place that looked like it might be better for riders.

Chum Phae area
The White House guesthouse in Chiang Khan, N17.89348 E101.65114

The lady spoke good English, and very friendly. After a brief conversation my bike was put the the foyer for the night.
Room was fine, clean and the breakfast was good. Fresh Coffee in the morning was from her own Coffee Plantation in the Chiang Mai area.
They are on booking.com and the price was THB 890 with breakfast, When I asked her the price for the room she said THB 900 with breakfast, so I paid her cash, for the sake of THB 10 it was not worth using booking.com.
