In the classic section, where was the '59 pre-unit Tangerine Dream Triumph Bonneville....?
One of the most gorgeous bikes ever made....
Fastest production bike on the road at the time, as well.
6 of these bikes were imported in to Thailand in 1959 to BKK.
There is at least one that is still in the country.

If electric bikes are the future, that's a bit depressing Aside from that e-bike being a little bit to quick for my liking, there won't be any of the most gratifying feedback;
- the big V-Twin vibration
- the throaty rumble under acceleration

Not to mention that I actually like the smell of petrol, and changing gears...

Imagine watching a future Moto GP (e) - all those bikes whizzing around at insane speeds - without making a sound!

I don't think there is any doubt at all, that electric is the future. This is the fastest production bike in the world... Now. Even though it currently costs $38k.
This Lightning won the last Pike's Peak race and I expect an electric bike will now win that race every year.
It takes 30 minutes to charge and will then go for up to 290 Klms on that one charge.
I think is interesting that you don't need brakes. Effectively, throttle position equals rpm / speed, virtually directly. While decellerating you are charging the battery as well, that is quite clever.

...there nothing depressing about electric bikes .. really

I only tried the little Zero Super Motard, and believe me, there is a s**t load of torque. You turn the accelerator and the bike throws into warp speed within a microsecond.
Pure Enterprise feeling (Mr. Spok just called me and said he agrees)

And there are fewer moving parts too, so it bends like nothing you've tried.

I would never trade my bikes, but I'm soon going to add something running on batteries.

Tiyaan,
I think you said it all there. Petrol engine bikes will quickly be seen as dinosaurs. Electric has instant torque that an internal combustion engine can never make. Sounds like great fun.
With few moving parts, servicing will only really be chains & sprockets plus tyres.

Much as I enjoy engines, am looking forward to my first purchase. That instant torque will be as addictive as any bike produced before it. If not more so. No waiting for the revs to build to peak TQ. Twist the throttle and you do not ride there - you are there.
