Hi everyone,

I just bought a RE Himalayan. Great bike, runs well, good ergos etcetc. I was looking for pannier racks or saddle stays that will keep soft panniers from the exhaust. They seem easy to have made here at a metal/machine shop (I'm in BKK) I assume. The price I have been quoted from the "highly revered" Donowyn in India is ahm... &*% and he seems to be quoting according to country / nationality but he doesn't want to give a breakdown of the cost. He makes it himself in his shop in Mumbai from what I've heard from friends so it's not factory machined steel or anything. The real hard case aluminum panniers + racks are around 16,000 thb from the RE dealer. Let's just say that Donowyn was quoting me a fair bit more for just the racks...

Any thoughts on having it made here if I supply the metal shop with a template? I can have it powder coated elsewhere.

Also, any thoughts on LED fog lights? I'll be making a trip up to Laos next month and I'd like to get these installed as well.

Thanks!
