[format=h2]Upcountry Dinner - Wednesday November 28th 2018[/format]

There's been a bit of discussion on the topic of a venue for the November dinner... Choices are;

1.) Tak - good riverside restaurants and pubs, and a fantastic cafe on Highway 1 on the edge of town. A good loop ride which enables those who have not been on the 105 since the upgrade to experience that. From Mae Ramat, the 1175 shortcut is also a great hilly road over to Tak.
- The Ping River Loop: Tak, Li, Hot, Mae Sariang...

2.) Mae Sot - tremendous changes in Mae Sot in the past few years has seen a new Central Plaza mall pop up, plus pubs, restaurants and new hotels. Still a good loop ride, as above...

3.) Uttaradit - good hotels, steak restaurants and pubs
- Uttaradit Restaurants
- Uttaradit Accommodation

OR we could make it a two-night event, as next month the last Wednesday is 26th December and that probably means a low turnout.

[bcolor=#00ff00]An indication of what would suit the majority would be helpful in setting the venue.[/bcolor]
- thoughts and preferences please...

For those of you that will be taking the 1175 to Mae Sariang before or after the Tak dinner on Wednesday. The road is in good shape and has little traffic. I was on it on November 20th. The 105 up to Mae Sariang is also in good shape and is a nice change from the previous constant construction and the spots that needed construction. Have a good dinner as I am going to have to miss another one.

Another Fantastic Evening. Thursday was another Relaxed start down to a Lovely Coffee Shop on the north end of town for a Lovely Breakfast before heading Home. We were cruising along at around 120kmh most of the way and were overtaken by dozens of Big Bikes in Groups! Wow! North Thailand is the place to Ride it seems Woo Hoo!!!

Hi Ian - thanks to one and all for making the effort to get out there and join up in odd places throughout the year. It is a good opportunity to have a night in places we'd otherwise ride past, and there are some hidden gems in all locations if you look hard and scout around.

I'm also looking forward to next year, as meeting up with like-minded gentlemen for a few beverages and a dinner is a highlight each month.

Great photos from the Tak trip, although there is something a little disturbing about the 3 men gathered closely in a pool with a beer tower... LOL

It's a fantastic and I might add Legitimate reason to give My Wife for a Ride Ha Ha! So every Month I can make a two day Ride out of it, works Perfect! Plus as You say We get to stay and see towns and roads We most often would never normally visit! Roll on 2019!!!

Glad you appreciate the concept of these GTR Dinner destinations.
The next one will be end of January. We will skip the December one.
