(Initial unboxing and then my thoughts at approx one month later).

Around a month ago I received a pair of #Pamabo Tour boots, after the company contacted me and offered me a chance of testing them out. Who is going to say no to a great offer like that?! My only concern was wondering if I would like them after such a nice offer, and dreading having to give a thumbs down, but it is ok, I really like them. So, I figured I would return the nice gesture by posting here on GT.Rider, seeing as they are a relatively new brand being made in Thailand, and more exposure will help.

Initially the boots felt stiff, but once the boots softened in (after about 2 days use) they felt extremely comfortable and lightweight. A nice looking boot too, so I feel fine about wearing them into nice coffee shops etc, when out on a ride. I have even worn them out on a casual night out with friends.

One feature I particularly like is the soft suede inner lining at the top around the boot. Often a problem area for rubbing/sweating etc. Having the suede negates the need for long socks and the suede feels super soft.

These added bonus is that the boots are locally made in Thailand, which means they are good value as no import tax. I was given a size guide and advice on the best fit and the boots were sent to me from Bangkok up to Chiang Mai by express post. In the box I received the boots, a backpack carry bag for them, a long sleeved t-shirt, and some company stickers.

So, I am happy to report it is two thumbs up for the boots.

Pamabo have also kindly offered a discount code for the tour boots (which are UNISEX). Just mention "motogirlthailand" and you will receive a 5% discount per pair. So hope that helps, if you are interested in buying.

The boot is ฿3,800 with free shipping within Thailand

Interesting! I would try a pair of them for local Riding. I normally wear the Sidi Adventure boot any time I am going on a Trip. I am Surprised the Taller Boot has No patch for the Gear lever abrasion but the short one does? Do they have much Padding / protection?

That did surprise me too (lack of gear lever patch).

I do also miss having an ankle bone protector (which I have on a pair of Scoyco ankle boots. The Scocyo in truth are ugly in comparison, even though protection should outweigh vanity..!).

Def a light protection boot so I still prefer my forma adventure boots for bigger rides.

Its a nice boot if you just want a lightweight boot for around the town and light local riding.

I tend to be a bit overkill on the protection when on a bigger ride, so for me the formas are better for that.

But I am glad of a more "tidy" option to wear on smaller rides. Very lightweight and nicer for walking into venues, if just on a mini road ride, than my ugly Scoycos or big Formas.

Actually, I will send Brian at Pamabo this thread link. Then he can see for himself any feedback or concerns. He will be able to answer with more info directly then. :)

Hello, all. First of all, thanks for the review and post, Zed. As stated above, these are more casual riding boots and don't offer full on protection. We wanted to create something lightweight and durable that could be used for riding, but also would be comfortable enough for waking around and exploring when off the bike. In hindsight, we probably should have added shift protection on the Tour model. Thanks for the feedback. We are currently working on a new model with added protection and features. Hoping for something high quality, but still at a reasonable price point. Feel free to post any other questions you may have here. Cheers.
