Well ... if it is in your line of sight you would have to be always looking around it.
Most come with Bluetooth - so under helmet ear bud would transmit turn by turn navigation if you like that.
I only use it for the turn indicators - when you hear the voice come on, glance down and see where to go.

The bar just arrived, now the phone is in the centre directly above the tachometer. So far so good.
In Indonesia I found that the Google lady stays quiet for sometimes half an hour if there are no road changes, sometimes longer and I never knew if she was still with me. (had phone in my breast pocket)
